GCA Annual Convention

The Georgia Cattlemen Association is holding its Annual Convention in Savannah, Georgia in January 28 - 30,  2021. Held at the Marriot Savannah Riverfront, the Convention will celebrate GCA's 60th anniversary. It will be filled with activities. Committee meetings, a tradeshow, training sessions, speakers and even a milk and ice cream break are just some of the event's activities. Two features of the convention include "Being Social Matters to Consumers" and "Selling Beef to Consumers."

Georgia Cattlewomen will hold our Annual Meet and Greet Thursday afternoon at 5:00 in the Savanah Ball Room. The annual meeting is a chance to catch up with old friends and to make new ones from across the state. Everyone loves the beef industry, so it's a time for friendly fellowship. New officers are elected and installed to their new positions, committee reports are given and a guest speaker gives a short talk related to promotion, education, and leadership of the Georgia Cattle Industry.

On Friday at 11:15 GCWA opens the Hoof-N-Mouth Communications in the Pulaski Room. Raffle tickets for a beautiful handmade quilt or farm sign can be purchased throughout the convention until the Cattlemen's Ball. The winners of the raffle drawing are announced at the Cattlemen's Ball. At 2:15 the Cattlewomen gives a "Where does my Steak Come From?" educational demonstration also in the Pulaski Room. The day quickly moves to the Cattlemen's Ball Cocktail Reception at 6:00 and the Cattlemen's Ball at 7:00. Cattlemen and women enjoy an evening of excellent food, cattle industry updates, and leadership changes. During the event, Georgia Cattlewomen present their two annual awards, Cattlewoman of the Year and Cattlewoman Hall of Fame. These two highest honors recognize the above and beyond contributions of two special GCWA ladies who have selflessly given their time and talents to our organization and the Georgia beef industry as a whole. As it's GCA's 60th Anniversary, this Ball is sure to be a good one.
